Cofinity-X supports productive PCF data exchange between LINDE + WIEMANN in Catena-X, paving the way for future use cases

LINDE + WIEMANN has successfully implemented secure and standardized sustainability data exchange within the Catena-X ecosystem together with Cofinity-X.
Since joining Catena-X in May 2025 and setting up the EDC connector in October 2025, the company has carried out 16 Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data exchanges with its OEM partner. The solution is now in productive use and represents an important milestone in LINDE + WIEMANN's sustainability performance.
As a future-oriented automotive supplier, LINDE + WIEMANN focuses on reliable data exchange, sustainability, and compliance with growing regulatory and customer requirements. The implementation of PCF as an ambitious first Catena-X use case enables the company to establish standardized processes for CO₂ reporting while preparing for further Catena-X use cases.
Secure and standardized data exchange with Dataspace OS
LINDE + WIEMANN uses Dataspace OS from Cofinity-X for seamless integration into the Catena-X ecosystem. Dataspace OS is a connector-as-a-service application that enables companies to connect to Catena-X and exchange data securely with their partners.
With the support of Cofinity-X Consultancy, LINDE + WIEMANN was guided through the entire process, from connector configuration to productive operation. This close cooperation enabled the systematic implementation of PCF data exchange with the OEM. In parallel, LINDE + WIEMANN is also working with another OEM to implement the Certificate Management use case using Dataspace OS.
Foundation for further Catena-X use cases
By deploying Dataspace OS, LINDE + WIEMANN has established a stable and future-proof technical foundation for expanding data exchange in Catena-X. The productive implementation of PCF and Certificate Management enables standardized processes, improved data quality, and increased automation.
“With Cofinity-X, we were able to reliably establish secure PCF data exchange with our partners in Catena-X. The combination of Dataspace OS and Cofinity-X's professional consultancy support enabled successful implementation and fast operational results. The challenges we successfully mastered lay a solid foundation for future Catena-X use cases.”
Nadja Heuser & Tim Hafer Sustainability Team, LINDE + WIEMANN Group

Building on this setup, LINDE + WIEMANN plans to gradually expand Catena-X-based data exchange and implement further use cases to strengthen cooperation, efficiency, and sustainability.
About the Catena-X PCF use case
The Catena-X Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) use case enables the precise calculation and secure exchange of product-related greenhouse gas emissions along the entire automotive value chain. It creates transparency, data sovereignty, and comparability by basing itself on internationally recognized standards such as ISO, as well as the WBCSD's PACT Guidance and the Catena-X PCF Rulebook. The focus is on a cradle-to-gate life cycle analysis that begins with raw material extraction and ends at the factory gate.
A key objective of the use case is the progressive shift from secondary to primary data: while secondary data is based on generic databases or industry averages, primary data comes directly from the real production and supplier processes of individual companies. This gradual transition significantly increases the accuracy of CO₂ calculations, improves the quality of sustainability reporting, and at the same time promotes targeted decarbonization measures in industry.
