Catena-X Usecase

Certificate management   redefined

Transform your certificate management using the secure Catena-X dataspace. Boost efficiency thanks to standardized protocols on a single platform and raise your visibility among OEMs and other key partners.

Status quo

Too much manual fuss

A company with 100 customers may need to provide their certificates in up to 100 different ways and maintain them manually in 100 different proprietary customer portals. This leads to limited visibility, outdated records and duplicated efforts across suppliers and partners. As regulatory demands grow, the lack of a unified approach increases the risk of non-compliance.

The Catena-X dataspace offers a new way to manage certificates more efficiently by enabling secure, structured data exchange between trusted partners.

Solution

Cofinity-X streamlines and scales up certificate management

The Cofinity-X certificate management solution, powered by Dataspace OS NOVA, offers a streamlined and efficient way for automotive suppliers to handle essential documentation like ISO and sustainability certificates. Instead of repeatedly uploading the same documents across various OEM portals, companies can now upload certificates once and share them automatically with all relevant business partners.

The result is up to a 95%
efficiency gain thanks to:

Drastically reduced manual workload

Minimized errors

Freed up resources

Registration

How to get started?

Cofinity-X provides you with access to Catena-X and its certificate management solutions in a few straightforward steps.

Step 1

Register your
company

We will prepare your account and ask you to confirm your company details, such as VAT-ID and address. A clearing house will validate the data before generating a unique Business Partner Number (BPN), essential for all activities within the data space. We will notify you by email when the process is complete.

01
Provide your company information
02
An external clearing house validates your data
03
You receive your BPN and access to the portal
Step 2

Prepare your
company for
data exchange

Before you can exchange data within the ecosystem, you need to set up your technical environment. Whether you build it or buy it, you will need an Eclipse Dataspace Components (EDC) connector.

As Catena-X is open source, you essentially have three choices for the EDC connector: you use our service, develop your own internal solution or choose one provided on our marketplace. We will guide you and your IT administrators through this together.
Step 3

Set up your
certificate management app

Once everything is in place, you’re ready to upload certificates and share them with your business partners.

01
Choose an application
Subscribe to one of the trusted apps developed by one of our partners or get started right away with our Dataspace OS NOVA.
02
Set up the technical infrastructure
Work hand in hand with the app provider to configure your solution – tailored to your system environment.
03
Start tracing parts
Once uploaded, certificates can be shared seamlessly with key business partners, eliminating the need to interact with each supplier portal separately.
