Digital Twin Administration
Description
The Digital Twin Administration (specifically the Digital Twin Registry, based on the Asset Administration Shell standard) acts as a central directory for a company's digital twins. Instead of storing the actual data of each digital twin, it provides references to different Submodels, which represent distinct perspectives or aspects of a digital twin. These Submodels are linked to the digital twin, and APIs can be used to retrieve the specific data they represent. As a core architectural component, the Digital Twin Registry orchestrates how data flows between Data Providers and Data Consumers, enabling seamless choreography of interactions and ensuring data can be accessed efficiently across systems and domains. This structure ensures that digital twins can scale flexibly while maintaining a clear, organized flow of information.
